COMMITMENT FOR A BETTER WORLD

  • At CALVI, sustainability is rooted in our values and is fully incorporated into our corporate culture. We believe that a fairer and more sustainable fashion industry is not only feasible, but also a shared responsibility that demands constant improvement in the way we create and operate.

  • From the origin of the cotton to the creation of our collection and the treatment of our waste, our commitment is to operate with total transparency for the benefit of people, the planet and society.

The choice of fibres plays a significant role in the durability of garments, as well as their recyclability. This decision directly influences the quality of the product and its environmental impact. From the outset, CALVI has made a clear choice regarding raw materials, opting to use only 100% organic cotton.

ORGANIC COTTON

Organic cotton is grown from seeds that have not been genetically modified, without any intervention from pesticides or chemical fertilisers.
The production of this type of cotton has a very positive impact. Sustainable cultivation ensures that harmful chemicals don't pollute the soil or contaminate nearby rivers, lakes or seas. In addition, the water used in organic farming is not wasted and can be safely reused, benefiting the soil and other water sources.

This commitment to organic cotton has an overall positive effect on the environment, the soil and biodiversity. It also represents a commitment to cotton farmers and their communities.

RECYCLED POLYESTER

Recycled polyester used in the textile industry is produced from pre- and post-consumer polyester waste. The production process involves collecting, sorting and recycling plastic bottles or other plastic products. This waste is cleaned, shredded into small pieces and melted down to create recycled polyester yarn, which can then be made into fabrics and used in the production of clothing, accessories and other textile products.

The use of recycled polyester in the textile industry is more sustainable compared to conventional polyester, as it helps to reduce dependence on virgin raw materials, reduces the amount of plastic waste and contributes to a circular economy by reusing existing materials.

We understand the impact of human activities on the environment. Some actions contribute to climate change by releasing CO2 and other greenhouse gases that are harmful to our planet.
CALVI focuses on CO2 emissions throughout our supply chain and the responsible use of water. We are committed to adopting sustainable practices and concrete measures to preserve our planet, promoting fashion in a more conscious and responsible way.
